Salamander Mix is a "lightly charged" coco-perlite. The "charge" is the same as Happy Frog -- earthworm castings + bat guano + oyster shell + mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial bacteria. Like Happy Frog, it is perfect for starting seeds or cuttings. IT DOES NOT HOLD WATER, the marketing people at FoxFarm messed that up. It will dry-back faster than Ocean Forest and Happy Frog; good for succulents even!

Because the coco-perlite stays light and airy, roots explode in this medium. We have used this by the truckload in commercial farms around Salinas & Watsonville and is a great medium from plug tray to harvest.
